Historic proportions. Taking advantage of the new energy and dynamism in Washington, DC’s South West, we helped renovate and reposition this landmark building.
Project Details
Potomac Place Tower, formerly Capitol Park Apartments, was designed in the late 1950’s by noted Washington architect Cloethiel Woodward Smith as part of a major urban renewal program. The 9-story, 335,000 SF, 400-unit apartment building was designated a landmark by the District of Columbia Historic Preservation Review Board in 2003 and the neighborhood is undergoing another ‘rebirth’ due to the construction of the Nationals baseball stadium and development of the near-by waterfront. As part of the building renovation and conversion to condominiums, the historic façade was restored and the apartment unit layouts were modernized with an open floor plan.
